Wonuarra is a small locality situated southeast of Paringa, within the Riverland region of South Australia. The area lies east of the Sturt Highway, extending from Paringa to the South Australian border. Historically, Wonuarra was a station on the Barmera railway line, primarily used for transporting bagged wheat from the district. The station's original name, Koora, was changed to Wonuarra due to confusion with another location, Noora, situated further south. In the 1960s, a branch railway line was constructed to support a planned dam project on the Murray River, but this project was later abandoned.
