Talia Caves

South Australia's eyre-peninisula

Talia Caves are a spectacular series of geological formations located on the rugged west coast of South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, near the towns of Elliston and Venus Bay. These natural wonders have been carved into the ancient granite and limestone cliffs by the relentless power of the Southern Ocean over millions of years. The main attractions are two distinct cave formations: 'The Woolshed', a large, cavernous space with a honeycombed ceiling and access to dramatic rock faces, and 'The Tub', a collapsed crater connected to the sea by a tunnel, creating a deep, circular pool within the cliff.

The area’s history is also marked by a monument to Sister D.B. Millard, a nurse who drowned at the site in 1928.
