Pildappa Rock is a remarkable granite inselberg located 15 kilometres northeast of Minnipa on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. This ancient rock formation, dating back 1,500 million years, is celebrated for its spectacular wave-like formations, which are considered the highest and longest on the peninsula, rivalling the famous Wave Rock in Western Australia. The unique pink-hued granite has been sculpted by weathering over millennia, creating impressive flared slopes and deep, water-holding rock pools known as gnamma holes, which have long served as a vital water source in this arid landscape.
