Nildottie

South Australia's riverland

Nildottie is a small town located on the eastern side of the Murray River in South Australia. It is about 99 km from Adelaide and sits within the Mid Murray Council area. The name "Nildottie" is derived from the Aboriginal word ngurltartang, meaning "smoke signal hill," reflecting its Indigenous heritage.

The region is well known for its stunning river views, particularly at Big Bend, where the river's wide curves offer some of the most scenic vistas along the Murray River. The nearby Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park provides a deep insight into the culture of the Nganguraku people, featuring archaeological sites that highlight the area's long history of human habitation.
