Nepabunna

South Australia's far-north

Nepabunna, also known as Nipapanha, is a small Indigenous community located in the northern Flinders Ranges, about 600 km north of Adelaide. It was established as a mission in 1931 to support the local Adnyamathanha people. Today, it is part of Australia's first Indigenous Protected Area, Nantawarrina, which was created in 1998 to preserve natural and cultural heritage. The community is involved in land restoration, cultural education, and sustainable tourism initiatives.
