Dublin

South Australia's adelaide-plains

Dublin is a small town located on the Adelaide Plains in South Australia, approximately 61 km north of Adelaide. It is situated in the cadastral Hundred of Dublin, named by Sir Richard Graves MacDonnell, the 6th Governor of South Australia, in 1856. He named it after his birthplace, Dublin, the capital of Ireland.

The South Australian Livestock Exchange saleyards are located to the southeast of the town, having replaced earlier saleyards at Gepps Cross near Adelaide in 1999 for sheep, lambs, and pigs, and in 2003 for cattle.
