Barley Stacks Winery

South Australia's adelaide-plains

Barley Stacks Winery, on the enchanting Yorke Peninsula, is not just a haven for wine enthusiasts; it’s also steeped in a fascinating history and lively culture. The Gregory family planted the vines back in 1996, including varieties such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Viognier. Since 2008, the Schulz family has taken the reins, further enhancing its reputation. The name "Barley Stacks" honours the local farming traditions, as it was the very first commercial vineyard and winery to be established on the traditional barley belt of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia.

Just a short jaunt from the historic town of Maitland, Barley Stacks Wines offers visitors a truly unique Australian experience. The wine produced here comes from grapes grown in the Barley Stacks vineyards, which are crushed, fermented, stored, and bottled right on-site.

The Narungga nation, the traditional custodians of the land, have called this region home for thousands of years. Their deep connection to the land shines through, and visitors have the chance to immerse themselves in the rich cultural practices and stories passed down through the ages.
