Ardrossan

South Australia's yorke-peninsula

Ardrossan is a charming little treasure located on the eastern side of the Yorke Peninsula, gazing out over the Gulf St Vincent. It features stunning coastal vistas, complete with sandy shores and rugged outcrops. Officially founded in 1872, and proclaimed a port in 1878 the town was named after Ardrossan in Scotland, paying homage to the Scottish roots of many of its early settlers.

Historically, Ardrossan was home to the Narungga (Nharangga) people, whose rich history is intricately woven into the region's identity.

Ardrossan is particularly renowned for its breathtaking sunsets over the Gulf St Vincent, making it a favourite spot for fishing and boating aficionados. The town is also celebrated for its salt production, with the nearby salt fields playing a significant role in the local economy.
