Hi to our intrepid travellers!
This post has been contributed to us by one of our tour customers, Ian. Ian went on our 7 day Coober Pedy, Lake Eyre and Flinders Ranges tour in October 2021 and has been kind enough to share stories and photos from that trip with us.
Just back from a fabulous tour, made even better by such a great host in Mick. It was the one area of this state I hadn’t got to see previously, so was looking forward to it for quite a while – the fact the COVID caused 3 deferments initially caused some despondency, but the wait was more than compensated by the magnificent scenery we experienced.
There were too many highlights to list them all here now, but The Breakaways (near Coober Pedy), the Wright Air flight over Lake Eyre and then to The Painted Hills, and finally Arkaroola were all standouts. We were rained in (roads closed) for an extra day at Arkaroola, which was a rare experience in itself – this meant we missed the planned Flinders Ranges experiences, but there are not many better places to be stranded for 24 hours than Arkaroola!
